Spots of Happiness
Today marks the end of my 30 days of which saw me post and bring to life 30 fundamentals of how to be happy.
Why I did this…
I love a 30 day illustrative challenge and it had been a while. But first and foremost I wanted to explore in a different way the postive vibes work that i’m known for on my feed. But with this series I wanted to focus purely on image based works with no hand-typography and through the majesty of spot / editorial illustration. This medium is something I truly love as often it incapsulates an idea in a simple, highly creative and metaphorical way.
It was my hope that I would find some tools for in life as well as exploring my own creativity as a visual storyteller.
The Results…
Whilst I don’t feel particularly any happier in myself, I do feel a bit more self aware of how I react to things in general on a bad day. Maybe on some level I’ve activated some self-help tools within my self to be more conscious and to take breathes and actually put things in place inside and out to get at least a base level of joy. But no… I did not reach some ecstatic nirvana of happiness as I don’t feel “happy” is a destination.
Happy, comes and goes and changes like the weather. Sometimes it’s warm and sometimes it’s cold but the good thing about doing this 30 day series means I know that when it’s bad outside I can find a tool, or rather a metaphorical umbrella, and keep myself at least dry.
Many thanks for all the love and support folks!
Pete :)
